Travis Callahan is an Emmy® Award-nominated writer, director, and producer recognized for creating innovative scripted and documentary projects. His work explores themes of identity, grief, masculinity, culture, and tradition, with a focus on compelling characters and queer representation.
He earned an Emmy nomination for Best Writing for a Teen Series for Growing Up, a hybrid documentary series created with Brie Larson for Disney+. His diverse projects span film and television, including Jonas Åkerlund’s cult feature Lords of Chaos, and Hulu’s Eater’s Guide to the World hosted by Maya Rudolph. As both a writer and producer, Travis has collaborated with acclaimed filmmakers such as Spike Jonze, Chris Smith, and Ondi Timoner, while also penning award-winning feature film and TV pilots.
After mentoring under director Jaume Collet-Serra, Travis helped launch VICELAND’s original programming as a core member of its creative team. With experience across feature films, television, and unscripted content, he continues to champion storytelling that pushes boundaries and connects with wide audiences.
